React Job: Site Reliability Engineer

Instruqt is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join their growing engineering team. As a new role you will be an internal consultant to the company, to observe, guide and support the infrastructure team in creating a culture of systems and operations availability. You will be part of our infrastructure team, while also supporting the Cloud & Devops consulting teams and will be responsible for ensuring our teams implement best practices for availability, reliability and scalability.

What you'll do

• Continuously improve our core sandbox technology
• Improve systems observability, reliability and performance
• Implement and spread SRE practices such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and blameless post-mortems
• Work with teams to analyze failure scenarios and mitigate those
• Create runbooks to remediate or prevent failure scenarios
• Participate and facilitate incident management
• Coach, train and support our technical teams to create a culture of systems & operations availability

Requirements:

• 5 years SRE/DevOps Engineer experience
• Previous consulting experience preferred
• Expertise with Linux, Go, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Experience with container applications based on public cloud (Google Cloud, AWS or Azure)
• Experience with monitoring and observability
• Strong understanding of networking, distributed systems and web-based applications
• Experience with systems performance tuning and load testing preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. We collaborate across small teams, clear communication is key to our success.

• Experience in an agile, cross-functional team and in a fast-paced environment
